·So you want a vintage, except you might go modern instead. And you don't want complications, but you do want a date or day-date. Not sure how to help you.
Chronograph, sorry that is what I meant by complications. Sorry for not being specific enough.

After short thought, I guess it does not to be vintage.
How about something from this box? Some of them still run (Maybe not the Bulova Sea King or Seiko 5 at the bottom) but just need a battery.
Actually, now you have me thinking about maybe offering up my 145.022-74 Speedmaster Pro with original 1171 bracelet, closer to the top of your price range (extract says produced Oct 16, 1976). And as soon as I typed this I'm thinking stupid stupid stupid...
