Hi everyone,
A couple of weeks ago I posted an enquiry about a flightmaster as a daily wear and got a ton of helpful and really interesting replies.
Am delighted to report that I did buy a flighty from @flqt-9000, who I think needs no introduction on this forum!
Absolutely delighted with it, my very first vintage Omega! Here it is! I’ll need to get the bracelet adjusted as it’s a bit too long but thrilled to be the new keeper, loving everything about these first gens: the shape, size, colours and function.
Thanks to everyone who posted on my earlier thread, and massive thanks to @flqt-9000.

Hope so! Wearing it for my own personal enjoyment but other people do sometimes comment and I reckon this one stands out from the crowd!

Thank you! I am loving it! Feels like a natural progression from Seiko 6138 Speedtimers…IRL the dial is this fantastic drinking chocolate powder brown shade and the subdials are the colour of a good bar of dark chocolate. Am just sitting here marveling at the detail, the subdials are ever so slightly recessed and have a pie dish edge, boy did Omega go to town on this one!

I've had mine nearly 50 years, and still never get tired of it looking at it
Terrific! Am assuming you bought it new and have always kept it-please wear it in good health.

Yeah It was brand spanking new, It's had a hard life and been knocked about a bit (a bit like me really) it been worn so much that the engraving of a jet plane on the back has completely worn away, it's probably on it's 4th crystal by now the crowns and the pushers have all been replaced a few times and I got so sick of the locking tang on the bracelet braking so for most of it's life it ended up with various aftermarket bracelets, now it on an Uncle bracelet and that's been the best of the lot so far.

Loved reading this, you and a watch going through life together, getting a few knocks along the way, but getting patched up, wearing the scars, swopping the hardware as you go, you carry on.
Fifty years of proper use is also a testament to the build quality. Great stuff.
