had the watch fully serviced, cleaned, replaced crown and pushers. no polish, original crystal. i think it looks fantastic on my wrist.

following photos:
1)pre service
2) movement
3)post service
4) in vivo!

as an aside, the band, which i do like very much, is showing wear. i am open to suggestions regarding a new band if anyone would like to offer their opinions.

i would like to thank everyone who offered advice to me regarding the service process - do's and dont's regarding the watch, especially the advice of not taking it to an omega boutique shop, as i was inclined to do.

Great looking watch. I second the brown leather strap. Although that would look great on just about anything.

thanks for the feedback. does anyone know if the original band for these watches was metal or leather?
also, for a vintage watch of this type, what is considered to be good +- accuracy? the watch repair printout reads +4 sec/day. i'm thinking this is pretty good. it was - 22 prior the service. thanks in advance

For this case, the following bracelet comes up:

020LX1098540 | YEL. PLAT. BRAC.

It's discontinued, but you might be able to find one somewhere.

In order to fully evaluate accuracy, you would need to have all the numbers for the various positions the watch was tested under. A single number of +4 doesn't tell you anything really.

Cheers, Al

Seems to me I saw a bracelet with 540 links on eBay recently....

There are reproduction (fake) bracelets on etsy that might be a low-cost alternative while you look for the real thing.

The watch is within specs, but the Delta actually went up a bit, which is not something I like to see personally. Not a terrible result by any means, but they can be made better.

For reference the average daily rate for this watch (measured over 3 positions) can be from -1 to +11 seconds per day, so the specs are very loose. Delta at full wind is allowed to be as much as 25 seconds, which is quite loose. For a modern 1861 it's 15 second in contrast.

Cheers, Al
