Fogged dial

Is a fogging dial on a Speedmaster Pro a common thing? I have had mine since new 4 yrs ago. Its never been under water, never worn swimming or in the shower. It is my daily wear to my office each day. Yet a humid day has caused fogging that didn’t go away for 3 days (watch is now with repairer). Needs full service at $1,130 but no cause has been provided for the moisture inside. The watch that NASA put under enormous testing to successfully make 6x lunar landings seems to be defeated by a humid day. Is this a comon thing for ‘Speedy’s’ ?

Not particularly Speedmasters. Every water resistant watch is water resistant until it leaks! Watches don’t necessarily need to be immersed in water for a problem like yours to occur. Consider the air trapped inside your watch case can expand, and escape from the case when warm. It can contract inside the case when cooled. This happens if the watch is not air tight. If the watch is at body temperature, then suddenly and drastically chilled in the presence (particularly) of snow, two things happen, the snow melts as the watch chills, and the air inside contracts, and sucks in moisture. You’ll get a lot of answers to your question, so pick and choose the one that seems most likely to you.

...what?

that makes zero sense how is it that much.

as for water resistance... I assume you didn’t get it checked every year as said in the manual. Also you know that catching a pusher the wrong way can kill it’s WR hence why these are not really water resistant.

What my esteemed colleagues are saying is that while your issue isn’t extraordinary, the price you have been quoted for a service certainly is. Someone it seems is exploiting you. Unless they are insisting you have a new dial, a full service at Omega themselves is considerably cheaper than that. At an independent repairer less than half maybe. If you are using an intermediary I would suggest contacting an authorised repairer direct.

He may be in Australia and that is the price of a service via Omega 😉
