Hello every one I am trying to date a 145013 watch
And I am at loss. When I use the serial number for not Speedmaster, nor my watch nor the serial numbers in the flight master book work. Thus you do not get to 1970 before 32 XXX XXX, in the book you should already be in 1971 with a 31 634 999 serial number
However when I use the speedmaster serial number all work well.
Which is it ???
Someone can help please
Thank you in advance

This is a 145013
If I look at the other compoment of the watch it should be 1970. Now if a use the tool on internet and also one article with the non speedmaster serial numbers they say that the watch should be 1969. The problem is that for the internet tool and for the article also serial number that in the "flightmaster only" book are considered 1971 come out as 1969 !!! So it is not just a problem with my watch.
On the contrary if in the internet tool I say that this is a speedmaster both my whatch and the serial number described in the book come out consistent.
This is basically why I am asking how it should be done
thanls for your help

Hi,

Production date of Flightmasters in 29.137.xxx should be in Q3-Q4 1970. This is not impossible that small batches might have been produced Q1 1971, but not observed so far.

Two close blocks of Speedmasters are:
- 29.110.xxx-29.119.xxx produced in 1970, but rather Q1-Q2.
- 29.600.xxx-29.609.xxx produced in 1970, mainly in Q1-Q2 as well.
Both Speedmaster blocks are 145.022-69 reference, this is may be the confusion? 69 engraved in the caseback, but production in 1970.

I agree 100%. 32m serial for straight writing produced in 1971.

Hi thank you very much for your replay, given the other component of my watch Q3-Q4 1970 is perfectly fitting.
My reference to the speed master was just for saying that if I use the Omega serial number decoder
https://serial-number-decoder.co.uk/omega/omega.htm
It give 1969 to my serial number and also to quite higher serial number in the "Flightmaster only book".
In contrast if in the same tool I say that the watch is a speedmaster than it give the right dates for my watch and the one in the book

Could I ask how did you calculated the dates, i.e. wich tool or publication should I use ?
Thank you in advance
