Fixing Omega Seamaster 300 165/166 insert

Dear friends,
the acrylic insert from my SM300 was discreetly coming out of the bezel.
I preferred to carefully remove it before it left on its own.
It's in perfect shape, I just need now to put it back on.
I read that insert is in acrylic and painted, so I don't want to use any type of glue that could damage it.
Do you have any advice in order to do it properly with a proper glue that cannot damage this beautiful insert ?
Thank you,

I know this listing I am linking is for the wrong size but it's more to illustrate how it can be fixed- If you can find 3M double sided adhesive, you can re-apply it that way. Maybe someone else has a more specific response than mine? You can also take it to a watch maker.

Thank you for your advice. Due to the cost of that bezel, I am afraid that double sided adhesive wouldn't be enough resistant... Is it really reliable ?

I definitely understand. It is quite strong but I too would share your concerns. With that, a trusted local watch maker would have the right stuff to safely secure it.

Sure, but I would prefer to do it myself and I'm sure some friends here could help me to find the proper glue. I have several neoprene and cyanoacrylate glues at home... But I am afraid it damages the insert.

Could use 3M water based contact cement. That's the best bet.

Double sided tape is not useful. Even the thinnest may cause the ring to sit higher

Might also try crystal glue, but not sure what type of glue it is

Just make sure the 12 triangle is lined up with you press it in

If you use G-S Hypo make sure you have everything set up, marked out before you apply the glue.
It has a short drying time, but it's excellent for gluing bezels.

Do you think a water-based glue is not kind risky for diving use ?
Is it sufficient to glue the acrylic insert on the steel bezel ?

Thank you and thanks to X350XJR for your advice !
Are you sure this glue won't damage this insert that seems rather fragile ? I read some threads about paint loss and it scares me.

Perhaps apply it around the inner and outer edge rather than the painted back surface.

People rarely dive with vintage watches. There's cheap watches for that

As with any contact cement. Need to be spot on when resetting. Won't get a second chance when both sections touch

Small strip of tape at 9 and 3 to keep it suspended till keep it raised and to line up position

I finally glued it with GS-hypo cement.
