Roger, Is this also true of AD if you were to bring in a watch for repair?
Depends on your relationship with the AD and whether he does the work on the premises or sends it away. If you can find a friendly AD looking to make a couple of extra bucks in this tough economic climate, you're up and running 😉
It turns out I was all talk, I ended up purchasing a Speedmaster moon phase 3575.20. Someday, I hope to get a birth year GMT master 16760 . Until then I am very happy with my new Speedy.
Regardless, thanks for all the advice.

Sweet watch. 😉 I passed on one a few years ago and I'm kicking myself now seeing what these sell for.
What a smart move...........go for speedy first, you can buy the Rolex later. I only have one Rolex, the 1994 Datejust with black dial like your picture but with jubilee dial accent.
