Evening (UK) all,

I’m finally able to post in this section..! 😁

I’ve been lucky enough to get my grail watch.

2001 - P serial
3185 Movement
Original Box & Papers
Correct bracelet for year.

Also, as far as I can see - it has never been near a polishing wheel (maybe a cloth)

The condition of the watch is unreal, it’s basically unworn - no stretch in the bracelet and no desk diving scratches. I’d class it as ‘as new’ in my own opinion.

I cannot express how over the moon I am.

there will be more pictures added as the days go on 😁

Cheers all!

I’m still on cloud 9 with it.

My Omega 2254 will be getting cobwebs on it for a little while..

This is what I love about it - it can pretty much go unnoticed to the unfamiliar eye.

A class above the 2254..Absolutely loved mine too (flipped long ago, sadly).. Congrats!

This isn’t an Omega fan boy rant, but why do you say the Rolex 16570 is a class above the Omega 2254?

I’d say an argument could be made that the Explorer dial is a class above as it has white hold surrounds etc, although subjectively, many prefer simple, printed markers, and the large big triangle dial on the Seamaster is pretty special.

The 2254 certainly has a better bracelet and clasp.

The movements an interesting one. Although the Seamaster has a modified ETA it’s still chronometer and some would argue it’s equal to the Rolex 3135 with its drunken hour hand.

I’m actually considering a 5 digit Explorer but having held and tried on several of each I’d say that it’s the Seamaster that actually feels like it’s of a higher quality.

I have to agree with above - I am over the moon with the Explorer ii. However, the Omega 2254 bracelet and clasp definitely feels better quality.

the sword hand take some beating too. I just like the fact ones a diver and ones a GMT. They’re both great in their own ways.

So when buying a new watch, you can only use the expression "over the moon", if you buy a Speedmaster.
Other than that, it looks great!
I'm hoping a polar dial E2 will be my first Rolex down the road...

It is a nice watch for sure but very few 18-19 year old watches look new and have no scratches without being polished. There isn’t anything wrong with polishing and professional Rolex service centers are some of the best in the business. It’s the over polishing that ruins the watch.

It’s a great watch and you should wear it in good health!

Lovely watch , but not sure why anyone would compare a 16570 against a 2254 . One is definitely a divers watch & the other one definitely looks like a GMT , am I really missing something here .
