Ah, member of the OG FOIS roll-call crew!

Mine just got back from a day at the lake, still a watchbox fave despite a pretty active wearing life, and still keeping good time.

One of my best watch buys for sure.

That’s like 30 off from mine. I purchased mine right around the same time.

What's the highest LE number so far? Last time I looked it was 156xx.

Mine is #159xx, not sure of the highest number, purchased July 2021.

Congratulations, highest number seen here, and surprised they are still being sold in OB.

Maybe Omega is still running down remaining stock of 1861 movements.

Congrats -- looks great on the metal! Did you have the OB install it?

Interesting to hear that there are still a few in the retail chain. I was in my (large regional AD) this week trying on the NTTD and the manager noticed my FOIS and said they had received their last few after the discontinuation notice, and fielded quite a few calls for them -- said that other than the Snoopy it was the only Omega he remembered selling that produced a virtual bidding war!

I like the new 3861-based sandwich, wears very well, but when asked if I'd have any interest in trading my FOIS in for one I politely declined...

Thank you, very excited to have one, my OB is amazing and installed the bracelet before I even tried on the watch on the leather strap after agreeing to purchase it. I think my OB was surprised to come across one, it will be interesting to see how many more are in the supply chain.

The FOIS flew under the radar for me until I saw one in the metal, then I really began to appreciate the watch. I can see why they are popular, a keeper for sure!

Here’s a shot of the FOIS and my 321, neat to see the similarities and differences between them.

What bracelet did the OB mount on your watch?

They mounted a 1587/986 from an Aqua Terra.

Congratulations on your FOIS. It looks great on your wrist. Mine is #125xx purchased in October 2019.
Your watch number is definitely the highest I've seen here so far and it must be close to one of the last ones off the production line. Surprised that they're still available new from OB/ADs. Will be interesting to see if someone comes up with a number in the 16000s.

Thanks, I'm really enjoying it! Nice number for your watch! I think I lucked out, I don't know how it became available or how many more are out there at an AD/OB, it will be interesting to see where Omega quit producing them. I wonder if they would go to 16,000 even or?

Seeing these side by side still makes me wish there was a way to get the cal 321 bracelet on the fois. Other bracelet options look nice, but that Ed white bracelet is in a league of its own.

I guess it's a matter of trusting a competent watchmaker grind the lip down so the endlinks fit and being comfortable with that modification.

Perhaps omega will release another watch with 19mm lugwidth and the new movement, but to me that still seems pretty unlikely. I think the options we have now are the options we are going to have in the future.

Well,

the original strap shows a lot of wearing since I used it a lot since/in 2014.. Most of the time after purchasing, less in the newer times.
