Quick question for all you happy FOIS owners -- does the more elaborate caseback have any implications for wearing comfort? The design itself seems to be slightly recessed into the caseback rim, but also features a more textured pattern, and I was wondering if it's noticeable on the wrist in daily wear.

Although most here have said it doesn't, I have one in the shop for service now and the owner did indicate he finds it more uncomfortable that a regular Speedmaster case back.

Thanks all for the feedback. I have a condition (non-WIS related) that makes comfort on the wrist a larger concern that it perhaps should be. Hopefully will have the chance to try a few Speedies, including the FOIS and Pulsometer, in one go shortly. This is all very helpful.

My FOIS is no less comfortable than anything else I wear. Stainless steel should be hypoallergenic, but perhaps the weight is an issue. You might find a titanium-cased watch more to your liking. A salesperson at the Breitling boutique last weekend was showing me their new line of (Superocean, I think) with some wicked-light carbon casing. Feather light. I swear it felt like an empty case.

Hi... Got my new FOIS a few months ago from my AD in Denmark - no 133xx. My AD has currently no 137xx in stock at the store. I wonder how long Omega will continue production... Anyways seems production is still going strong. I recently saw two different dealers at Schiphol Airport/Amsterdam having the FOIS for sale as well.

Bought and returned, here. Loved the piece in pix and had a chance to grab a new one so went in and tried it on, but ended up preferring my Pro for the legibility and crystal.
Still a beautiful watch and more distinctive in person that I had supposed. I can easily imagine it working well as a dressy Speedy across a variety of settings.

Here is mine! This is actually the watch from Chrono24 private seller that was discussed on the forum a while ago. It's clearly used, but running super well and it's just what I wanted - a watch I can wear and not be worried about.

I've had a Speedy Pro before, but was not comfortable with the size, especially on the bracelet. I have quite thin wrists and thus I think I'm more sensitive to watch sizes than most, and I'd say there is definitely a difference in the size and feel of FOIS compared to the Moonwatch. The main thing is that the lugs are a bit shorter, but much more narrow and pointy. They make the watch wear quite differently. I'm also liking the super black dial, silver hands and the sapphire crystal, they give the FOIS a special look.

Just picked this up , changed the sub dials to white leaf hands and added the lollipop chrono , silver instead of white. Matches hands and dresses up the watch

I call it my historically oriented FOIS

I love it and have had it for 20 minutes

Love the lollipop hand. Really makes the watch. Kinda wish Omega would make them this way. Also like that you changed out the sub register hands to all match. Did we ever get an explanation on why Omega went with different sub hands to begin with?

I think they were to match the functions and therefore easy reading. White - Chrono. Silver - time

This makes the most sense. The other thought was they were unsure as to what Wally wore so they covered both options

I toyed with the idea of keeping the running seconds the silver, but in the end it looks better , imo, the way I did it.

I do like the sapphire, it really makes the dial a inky black

Really I am basing that theory on the color of the hands on the Racing (orange and white) and Apollo 8 (yellow and white). On those models it seemed to me that Omega was trying to differentiate the functions for ease of use.

Should be interesting to see,

Wonder if they will do something for the 60th in 2 years? Something identical to Wallys watch
