Hello all,

Reviving this thread as I am considering a MCC myself and would very much appreciate some input. In particular, paging @ConElPueblo, @Tony C., @MMMD, @Bill Sohne, and @Mick Tock. Would especially appreciate some input from you guys. Here is the watch in question:

Case on this one looks to be fair shape; the top left lug looks a bit funky but nothing major. Movement looks nice and correct to my eye. Main concern is both chrono hands appear to be replacements. I'm a bit unsure about the hour and minute hands. I have seen a few other examples with the alpha style hands, but they could have been service parts for the much more well known diamond-shaped hands. Really like the dial on this example. Price is around 3k USD.

Input would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Taybharr!

I am not that knowledgable about these, but I do have some reservations about the hands; as you say the chronograph hands are replacements and while the main hands look like those seen on some MCCs, I would have expected them to be lumed/unlumed according to the dial. Or is it the dial that is missing the lume?

I believe more lume used to be present on the outside of the arrow markets, looks as though much of it has eroded away.

The main hands and dial are mismatched, and the chrono hands are incorrect replacements. The dial was likely a replacement as well. So...very far from an original example, and I wouldn't pay anywhere close to $3k for it.

Indeed, there should be lume in the little hollows at the outside of the applied markers. And yes, all the hands are wrong. The case is only so-so.

Thanks for the feedback, @Tony C. @Dan S

I'm such a fan of the pulsation dial, is it just too high asking price considering the likely cost to find a set of hands?

Correct hand-sets are nearly impossible to find on their own. You would likely have to scavenge a set, perhaps from an otherwise problematic Multicenterchrono, and that would be expensive. I would advise waiting for a correct example, and spend a bit more if necessary.

Agreed. The sweep hands alone are hard to find. Given the missing lume and the fact that the case isn鈥檛 super-sharp it would be hard for me to see enough upside to take on this project.
