if you're goal was to be a one-and -done, you may want to wipe you browsing history and forget this forum all together, we are a bunch of enablers.

Be warned, this statement is very true, I arrived on the forum with just my 2010 vintage Seamaster SMP and now have two other Omegas with a fourth arriving in the not to distant future (hopefully). So if you only wanted the 'One' watch leave now and forget this forum ever existed.

Congratulations on getting a great watch, now you need a partner for it, something for those more formal occasions, maybe a Globemaster or an Aqua Terra.

Congratulations on a great watch which was nearly my first Omega, but I went with the 42mm 8500 in the end.

I think watches are a bit like tattoos, when you get one you just have to get more!!

Enjoy this one for a while though...

So after a few days it seems to be running on average about 9 seconds a day slow - it’s never been serviced so I’m quite impressed, but had anticipated it would be like this - in fact I tonight it would be much worse.
Does the margin of time-keeping error indicate how urgently a service is needed? Ie should I do it ASAP or can I wait a bit and enjoy it before sending it off to omega for a few weeks?
Cheers!

I would get the watch serviced by Omega, they can check it over, give the watch a full service, clean, polish (yes it is worth it my Seamaster came back looking like new, but others may disagree), you will get a nice travel case for the watch and it comes with a 2 year guarantee on the service. Oh and its a fixed price service.

If you’re not wearing the watch for precise time calculations... like needing precisely 14 seconds of jets to help you spin around the orbit of the moon... then you can def enjoy a bit longer.

Definitely enjoy it first! 9 seconds is nothing to worry about.

enjoy it, wear it and don’t worry about marking it - THEN send it off for a service. You’ll appreciate more that way.
