Nothing a good rifleman with an M1 rifle stoked with armor piercing ammunition couldn't deal with from a distance.

For those who really enjoy driving or are not comfortable with technology, I understand the reluctance. But think of when you are no longer able to "do it yourself"... We hosted our family Xmas dinner yesterday, and my 90 year old step-father was there. He willingly gave up driving when he was 85 because he recognized that his awareness and reaction times were not where they needed to be, and the last thing he wanted to do was kill someone. He now takes public transit, walks where he can walk to, and if needed family gives him a ride - my brother brought him to our house yesterday as there's no transit out where we live. He gets by, but certainly doesn't get out as much as he used to - this technology would give him back his independence, as it would for many others in various situations where other options are not practical.

For him and people like him, this isn't giving up freedom - it's getting it back.


If you don't want efficient technology that nannies you, why aren't you riding a horse instead of driving a car?

Well Archer, I could go back to using a sundial too, but there are limits.
