·I have been on the lookout for a Rolex Explorer 1 1016 with gilt chapter ring and by coincidence, two were offered laat week. One has a beautiful tropical dial but the owner had a change of mind. Hopefully, my dealer will be able to convince him to eventually sell. I bought the other one which is a great example too. The dial is still glossy and the gilt writing is awesome including the chapter ring. The case looks to have been lightly polished with no dings. It comes with a riveted oyster bracelet but its not period correct. I love wearing this watch for its simple beauty and the size is just perfect. Another fine addition to my collection.
