hi very useful omega gurus Update from this thread https://omegaforums.net/threads/considering-this.41935/#post-492607 At the shops now. Got it down to the aquaterra and then was shown the 57 on the tan strap! Also looked and removed the James Bond Aquaterra and the grey side of the moon. The moonwatch itself is a draw due to the heritage but want a more casual look. What views do you have re the 57? Thanks.
its a great looking watch with a great movement. + you need a chronograph in your collection which exact variant of the 57 do you consider?
This one. Thanks SPEEDMASTER '57 OMEGA CO-AXIAL CHRONOGRAPH 41.5 https://www.omegawatches.com/watche...a-co-axial-chronograph-415-mm/33112425101002/
Hi Just closing the story. Now the proud owner of my first Speedmaster. A 57. Very very happy, well I was until my other half reminded me it was a wedding anniversary gift and I can't have it until the 19th of July! Thanks to those who offered advice on this thread and the one from a couple of weeks ago. Was convinced I was getting the Aquaterra but when you see a watch live it's funny how something else "Grabs you" Best regards Josh
Great looking watch, but it looks like the strap on the top side is too narrow. You can see the pin on the left side in the picture you posted. I'd go back to the shop and make sure it's on the correct strap.
Thanks both. Just spoken to the shop and they confirm that the strap has not been changed from "factory fitted". The design does look identical to the omega website. Do they do the tan leather with white stitching in a smaller size?
Thanks for the spot. Spoke to them and they are doing a compete replacement. Great service from them Josh
Good to hear. I'm surprised no one noticed it earlier at the store or in the final QC at the factory, but at least it is an easy fix!
Awesome. Welcome to the club. Although I think you should have gotten the bracelet version and added the strap/deployant.
Hi Looked at the bracelet but really really liked the strap. I have a bracelet on a goodplanet and wanted something different.
Congrats mate, thing is with threads like this since we started the site in 2011 I've never seen one where the guy came back and went "Damn I regret buying the awesome watch I wanted". Its only ever people that don't buy the watch they want and rather buy the watch they think they don't mind but can more easily afford that regret it.
