Favorite strap or bracelet for Speedy? Still going with the Omega replica NASA strap that came with

my Speedy presentation box set. It's the most comfortable strap that I own [following break-in] and is often a fantabulous conversation piece among various bystanders who see it. 馃憤

Well if we're talking vintage Speedmasters, the best way to go is the stretch-link bracelet! 馃榿

The stretch link bracelets are by far the best looking but feel rather flimsy. I really like the 1171 on a Speedmaster or a Seamaster. They feel more solid and are light weight. The modern 1171/1 just feels cheap.

I've never worn an 1171, either vintage or modern, but I love the lightweight feel of the stretch-links. If you can find one in good condition (not stretched out etc) it isn't particularly flimsy either! I have a thing for slim, light bracelets - can't stand chunky / heavy ones.

Yes...but a quick rinse of the Omega replica NASA strap with mild soap and water under the faucet remedies that situation. Also, it dries extremely quickly. 馃憤

I have a nice, tight 1039 on a 105.012-66. Not a particularly good photo but all I can find.

The price to replace one these days also makes me a bit wary, I keep it for special occasions. On the other hand I have a 145.012-67 with a 1171 that I wear most of the time. A replacement 1171 is cheap if I damage it. I am not a fan of chunky bracelets either, you should try a 1171 if you can, I am sure you would like it.

If I ever acquire a watch with an 1171 on it, I'll definitely give it a shot - but for now, I have a nice 1039 on 3 of my vintage Speedmasters, and 2 backups! 馃榿

145.022-68 c861 on 1116

I've also got a 1171, a nato, a cobra and a panatime for it but this is my favorite.

I'm envious of people who can get bracelets to fit just right. Mine's always sliding around when dry--the alternative is too tight. No problems with leather and rubber straps though.

This is one great feature of my Rolex Explorer II. The glide-lock adjustments feature allows a quick and easy 5mm adjustment. I regularly switch between the two and have always managed to find a comfortable setting.
