It's 2020, folks, and we are moving forward! However, it is imperative to look back to the past from time to time. Watches tend to always pay homage to their counterparts of yesteryear. With that said, what is your favorite heritage / vintage inspired watch? I tip my hat to the Seamaster 1948 Small Seconds Hand.
Pretty much almost anything Longines is doing in there heritage series- someone there knows their shit . Omega got the 1948 right- now let’s see what else they got....
I think mine is an homage to something like this Longines; not a direct reproduction by any means but kind of a wistful appreciation; the original (From @Syrte 's thread ) Omega 175.0310 Different enough but it has that stepped bezel kind of military feel to it'
Also gotta give mad props to Eddie Platts for his Timefactors watches, particularly the Smiths reissues- not even an homage, he bought the name rights. Love my 29
Well, if you take heritage literally, the Breitling navitimer 806 re-edition has to top the list. If know of few, if any, modern re-editions of past classics that are so true to the original, with so much effort put into making it close to identical. When allowing for more liberties in terms of heritage re-editions, I would like to propose the new Doxa sub 300T. The tapered bracelet makes it a perfect modern iteration of the classic conquistador—the straight bracelet has always looked a bit dated to me.
I'm REALLY considering this as my next watch sometime in the next couple of months. How are you liking it? 39mm case, right?
Yes, 39 mm case. Super comfortable to wear (way more than the 41 mm model) and quite faithful to the original one: A great watch overall. Highly recommended.
