That's the way I got into this hobby in 2021. Dad passed in 2018 and I inherited a nice watch but didn't think much of it. When mom died in 2021, I went in the attic and found that 1913 Hamilton pocket watch I've posted and maybe another 10 watches of varying ilk from my dad and his parents. Then I went in the garage and found another box with 10 or 15 others from my mom's side as well. Crazy they told me nothing so I make sure I share with my son a little.

Another nice passing-down-the-family story.
Both the Omega Speedmaster and Accutron SpaceView have an interesting aerospace history. An open dial battery-powered Accutron SpaceView wrist watch was space-flown on the wrist of NASA astronaut Jeffrey Hoffman during the April 1985 space shuttle mission 51-D.
During that flight, astronauts demonstrated 11 toys-in-space (car in a loop, slinky spring, etc). Mission duration 6 days 23 hours 55 minutes.
