Just got this today via PM...please ignore the ads...

I am assuming this is an attempt to get me to click the link. Mods might want to ban this user before someone falls for this.

Just received a DM from user @support_dany (0 posts) about "user verification" - see screenshot.

The message claims that the Omega Forums "security team detected a sophisticated attack targeting our member database" and are "conducting a mandatory security check on all accounts". It then asks me to click on a link to confirm my identity.

This is plainly a scam, but I thought I'd mention it here just in case as it would be terrible if any members were defrauded because of it.

I received this scam message as well, so it seems it might be going to anyone recently active and not just the more-established members

Same here! All written in Cyrillic characters. This message was of great benefit to me! I found out how to use Google Translate!

After copying and reporting the same 2:59 Private Message to several moderators I think to look in Forum News and find this thread.

"Oh Dany Boy, the link, the link is bogus ..."

Thanks for all the info. We've banned an entire group of accounts and keeping an eye on things. Co-ordinated phishing attack.

We're still reviewing every sign up too, with special attention always paid to certain countries (as usual).

We're now taking some extra precautions and monitoring in addition to the above, but won't mention specifics.

Scanned the entire member base looking for similar patterns too.

I still have a suspect scam e mail from F-150 I reported weeks ago hanging in my mail. How does that get flushed?
