hello everyone, I just got a case that is claimed to be speedmaster. I knew the bezel is suspicious but was surprised when I got the case: it looks odd. See pictures. The profile looks different. So far I have never seen a fake case. Can you guys help me determine? The only thing I am not sure is that maybe it is from a very early asymmetric case era? I don’t have the moonbook at hand right now. Thanks!

Yes. Very thick and not much bevel on the back. I tried to screw up a back and it does not close by hand.

Well I am certainly no expert ,but based on what I am seeing and what you're telling me, it is likely fake.

Even looking on the underside of the tachy ring it looks totally bizarre. This has to be fake.

It's for sure not an authentic moonwatch case, but its not out of the question that it could be from an automatic speedy of some sort. It's not the reduced, but there are lots of weird variations out there which have a similar look to this.

Size matches with a real one. I can’t think of another model that is so similar.

Yeah, again it is definitely not a moon watch case.

How about this coaxial chronometer though?

Ah I think it is the Chronometer! Even bezel looks the same!

Quality of the machining looks like a replica case, regardless of the reference.

Definitely not a Reduced, as it's both larger than the standard Moonwatch case and the case is also drilled for an integrated chronograph rather than a modular one.

Super fake bezel makes me think this is fake all around - the Coaxial models are actually finished more nicely than the standard Moonwatch, because they generally go for a higher price.

Replica as in fake or replica as in 3594.50

This case is so fake, that I wonder how it can fill in a thread with numerous experts here.

I mean, that's too much honour for a piece of crap.

Fake, AFAIK the 3594 "replica" used the same case as the standard Moonwatch of the time

I know. I found it curious that Norman referred to it as a replica case, rather than fake.

Experts? I thought that's what we had you for.... It's moonwatch-or-bust for me, so I can barely tell co-axial speedy parts from my socket wrenches.
