Original on top, Fake on bottom in these shots.
Without this hint, I would have said bottom one is genuine, a side profile stitch looks more complex, more sophisticated, better 馃榾

It's interesting. I'd like to think the Omega's version is stronger with the way the sides are woven with the rest of the strap, but I'm only speculating.

Both of those could suspend some hundreds of whatever your unit of weight is.

You are correct. I was thinking more in terms of long-term wear including fraying and abrasion.

I might consider buying tens of Maratac straps, then. 馃榿

Shocked about all these fake Omega NATOs coming up. Didn't realize I had to be on the lookout like this....

I bought fake Panerai strap and deployment on eBay. After I called him out he gave me 100% discount not to leave negative feedback, I turned him into eBay. He was gone the next day. Scumbags.

I purchased a fake on Ebay after purchasing the actual directly from Omega. I liked the Omega enough to purchase a spare and thought I found a good deal on Ebay. Nope! Here are the photos of the original and fake together. It should be noted that using a high powered magnifying glass reveals differences in the laser etching on the individual components. The Omega etching is a bit neater than the fake, but it looks like they are both done using a laser. I realized mine was fake after the buckle broke. The spring bar of the fake is obviously significantly inferior.

Really sucks! The seller gave me 50% off of an already lower price, so I am keeping the fake, somewhat reluctantly.

Thanks for the images of re real and fake. I got one from eBay a couple of weeks ago though it did come with the red carrying case (not that is a sign of being genuine). I better have a look 馃檨

It is rather sad that this is an issue. I'll likely never buy a watch or strap off Ebay again.

So you support people who make fakes? They are counting on suckers accepting their offers. Report them and have nothing to do with these people.
