Watch forums have a long history of new members joining to post "interesting" watches in hopes some member will offer to buy. It's not stated in the initial post but that's the goal. Oftentimes these are fraudulent posts. So people here are skeptical. And rightly so.
Of course, it’s right to be skeptical, but I would handle it intelligently by asking for more photos or descriptions. I wouldn't just jump to conclusions and refuse to listen to reason. In any case, I was trying to see if this mistake had happened to anyone else; I haven't put the item up for sale because I really like it.

Ancora 0% di testo umano.
Allora te lo scrivo in italiano... Pensi che non so scrivere? Pensi che non ho studiato e non ho una mia ditta? Ancora 0*100 umano??? Forse usi l'IA tu per capire se in un testo è stata usata l'IA?

What does your ditta have to do with it?

Anyway, to everyone else- enjoy your day!

Honestly, even if this WERE completely verified/had a letter from Omega's president himself saying it was real and a mistake...

This would be worth less than the original to me. Why would I want an imperfect one? Yes, people who do certain types of collecting pay more for mistakes, but watches like this one aren't that sorta thing.

If it were me, I'd send it back to Omega and let them 'fix' it with a correct caseback.

Che cosa c'entra la tua ditta con tutto questo?

Comunque, a tutti gli altri auguro una buona giornata!
Non sono uno stupido e non voglio essere trattato così. Mi sono posto in maniera educata e rispettosa come faccio sempre. Buona giornata a te!

Thanks for the reply; I’m currently trying to figure out the best course of action, and one option is sending the watch to Omega, who would replace the case back with a new one. My only concern is that the new case back might not feature the limited edition numbering.

the core of any kind of collecting—whether it's watches, coins, stamps, or even vintage art glass—is that anomalies create rarity

Which is it?

Virtually no one uses a semi-colon in a forum post. What is it about AI that loves using out of place grammar?

I appreciate your concerns. As you noted, I would determine if Omega could exchange the caseback that features the limited edition numbering. If not, my personal choice would be to keep it as is and enjoy the watch. Obviously it comes down to personal preference.

Whatever, you decide I wish you well. Have a great day!

I once bought a brand new IWC DaVinci perpetual calendar/chronograph and on the gold case back it was signed 'Internationat' in script. They fixed it under warranty. Stuff happens.

In this case I don't think the missing 'r' hurts or helps the value, it's just a production error. No one is going to pay a premium, and I don't think a future sale sale would be dinged by it. I wouldn't bother sending it to Omega for a new caseback.

I see no reason for you do anything more with the watch except wear it and enjoy it.
You will know that it's a special piece due to the engraving anomaly and if others notice/comment on your watch while you're wearing it they may be interested, but if the observer mentions "issues" or suggests a fake just nod, smile and move on.

Regarding comments related to Superintelligence. Many of us have experienced newer members using A.I. output to post on the forum, either in initial questions or in response to others. We find it very tiresome having to point out the errors/omissions/bullshit in their A.I. generated output.

Another issue is that translation from one language to another used to be "not perfect but understandable" and while not reflecting the format/style/expression of the original language it was acceptable. With the primary translation machines moving to more A.I. based interpretation we're starting to see "A.I." in simple conversation translations.

This may explain some of the "A.I. bias" in this thread.

AI translators are trying to get more and more 'clever' and aren't really translators anymore. They are moving towards fully replacing the text the person pasted in. They are absolutely awful at taking the point someone is making and turning it into obvious-AI-slop (just in a different language).

IMO, folks shouldn't be using them. On the other hand, when someone like OP says "I just used it for translation, its not my fault it made me sound like a dummy", I am reminded of the old addage: "Its a poor craftsman that blames his tools" 😁

"Its a poor craftsman that blames his tools"

Some of my tools are a delight to use, I've had others that have gone straight to the op shop or the bin after one use.

If the originator isn't familiar enough with the other language then they're unlikely to know of the issues presented on their behalf.
