Old custom was to run a truncated nose at Monaco expecting damage in the start melee. Now if only Toto could double in girth, wear a suit and tie, and wave flags at his drivers from the pit wall

I have always liked Vettel, he's let me down the last couple of years. I'm hoping it will be a good season for him, he needs it. But he's got to earn it lol.
Not at all. Unfortunate for the man himself, but he has missed 1 day of testing. There are 6 in total. That is 100 laps to learn the new car gone. Worse than that his team mate gets to take advantage of his absence and have more time in the car. Time in the car equals faster lap times and better results. Quid pro quo.
Normally am/pm split. Will Ferrari adjust the schedule. Maybe for Vettel. Depend how strong his position is in the team? I don’t think it is physically possible to do much more than 100 laps, so with smooth running the extra 4 hrs in the afternoon maybe fruitless!
Gotcha, I wasn't entirely sure of the testing schedule. I saw an article claiming that Ferrari were "ready" to give him a contract extension but who really knows. LEC is locked down for the next few years so he's for sure staying. But as for SEB? Who knows... If that is true though I guess he still has a pretty strong position within the team although LEC has shown quite the potential. Mercedes seems as if they will be staying in F1 (so they seem to say) so maybe Hammy won't get his Ferrari drive as soon as he thought, if he even wants it.
The am/pm split is to give both drivers a better chance of actually being in the car, just in case there are any issues coming up. He will get his allotted time in the car. Not because he is Vettel, but because every team would do the same thing. It just makes sense.
I had assumed with reduced testing time(6 days instead of 8 days) and only one car from each team allowed on track at one time, lost testing due to sickness would be a potentially irredeemable situation. It appears several teams are still allotting whole days to a single driver, Ferrari included.
Looking forward to McLaren's continued progress and my continued rooting for Lance Stroll to fall flat on his face (though I'm sure that Daddy would have a pile of money there to cushion his fall).
