I'd accept that your watch is fine though. I'd say the chances of it being frankened are very slim.
Yes I'm certain that's the case. My Dad had the watch way back when I was kid in the late 60's and early 70's. The red box with the papers was always on the bedside table and I can't remember him ever talking about replacing the mechanism. That would have been a big deal in our family.
