Extract from archives & omega watchmakers in Australia

Hello everyone.

May I firstly say thank you to those who replied to my first post regarding my 3582.50 speedy.

This is my second post and I seek any advice on attaining an extract from the Omega archives + does anyone know a quality watchmaker in Australia who specialises in Speedmasters?

I have (what I believe to be a 1989) a 3592.50 with display back. I noticed some Speedmasters have a number stamped on the back of the case - along the lug. Is this the case number?

My piece does not have a number stamped on the back of the 7 o’clock lug and only has a number stamped on the movement. So do I simply quote the movement number and send pictures of my watch to Omega?

Lastly, does anyone know a quality watchmaker in Australia that specialises in Omega especially Speedmasters?

Thank you and any assistance would be appreciated.

Adam Lewis (Lewis Watch Co) in Perth is excellent, an authorized Omega watchrepairer. He can help with whatever you need regarding a Speedmaster

I second Evitzee's recommendation. of Adam.
What do you need doing? Just a service, or restoration and case refinishing?
Why do you want an extract of archives? Just curiosity?

I have never serviced the watch and would like to know what year it was manufactured and so on.
Thanks for your replies.

Your watch serial number is on the movement, the case lug numbers only came in on later watches.

Actually dating a Speedmaster of this vintage by referencing various tables on the internet can be difficult and an Extract is the only sure way to find the exact production date.

Regarding the extract, it will only tell you the production date and where it was delivered. You also need to read the Conditions of Sale very carefully before ordering an extract.

As to servicing, contact the watchmaker referred to above and see if he is able to fit you in.

I have used Adam with great success on several occasions, but you dont have to for a relatively "simple" Speedy service. i have also used Max Schweizer in Sydney who are pretty fast and give good service.
