Decided that 'exceptional' isn't too subjective an adjective in describing this iconic 165.024 'Big Triangle' delivered to Hong Kong in January of 1968...

Offering this 'grail' to help fund a car restoration and happy to consider all available options: (1) cash sale as offered, (2) cash sale as head-only, or (3) pre-luminova Speedy or Heuer Autavia as PARTIAL trade with cash balance...

Dial - near flawless with all lettering crisp and unmarked - has to be one of the best around ... The tritium lume just leaps out at you - a rich custard patina which is even across all the hour plots. There is no lume loss and the tritium glows and quickly fades under light.
Hands - sword hands in excellent shape with all lume intact and colour is even with the hour plots
Case - in excellent condition with no sign of polishing to eyes more experienced than mine, lugs retain their beveled edges with a just a few, almost imperceptible nicks
Caseback - double-beveled caseback likewise shows little sign of use. Some minor wear to the lettering but all very legible and the seahorse is intact.
Bezel - bakelite bezel is in excellent condition, no cracks or blemishes, just some very minor discolouration to the numbering
Bracelet - the 1506 bracelet has #516 end links and is in great shape with only minor stretch. The clasp is dated 1/1965. I have only worn the watch on the period-correct genuine Tropic strap which is currently fitted.
Movement - the automatic 552 movement hasn't been serviced in my ownership as it keeps excellent time - very recent timegapher result (see pic) had it at +3 seconds per day; near chronometer spec!
The signed crown is the naiad type, rather than screw-down.

Price of USD14,750 includes international shipping via FedEx or DHL - can accept equivalent in most major currencies through Wise.com...

I have described the watch to the best of my ability and I hope that photos show all angles and different light settings, but if anything requires correction or additional photos needed, please let me know (and if you can find a nicer one in the market...)

I have a number of references here on OF as seller and buyer as below including sales in the past 12 months of an early Heuer Autavia 1163 and custom 321 Speedmaster to the US where I managed the process to ensure no additional cost to the buyer. Absolute integrity promised and delivered...

Thanks OF for the space and photos follow...

Thank you for picking up the slip - yes, #516 links which of course are usually seen with the 1039 bracelet. Given early 1968 delivery a 1039/516 might have been expected, but nice to have the less-common 1506 bracelet...

Beautiful watch. And, it’s good to hear you have priorities straight re: car restoration! What are you working on?

A 1970's Aston Martin that's giving me more drama than 'The Sopranos' - which is why the watches have been on the market... 🙁

@Kiwibloke, Astons are the ultimate. I’d love a DB5, which is now sadly out of reach, but an ‘oughts or early ‘teens V8 is mighty tempting. After a few drinks I bid on an eBay ‘08 and spent the following six and a half days in a panic that I’d actually win it! 😉

You would need some protection if you said that to my wife! “Trust me, this will be a winner” I said… nearly 7 years ago and maybe 6 months of that on the road…👎
