I go to museums and exhibitions to see Arts, to fancy shops to see things I can't buy, I lurked at OF Connie threads because I don't have any (yet!)...

Whatever I own, I wear, but I try to diversify as I don't like wearing the same things day after day. This goes for clothes, shoes and watches.

Enjoy them 😀

Wearing this every day....scratched the clasp whilst working but if I didn’t wear it I wouldn’t enjoy it!

Agreed- there is a watch for every task. I wouldn’t wear a dress Longines to do gardening, I wouldn’t wear a sub with a suit (I know- it’s a thing). I have a seiko diver for nasty business, a Benrus field watch for construction site visits....no need to be macho with $$$ watches, but also no need to baby them.

Speedmasters have been worn to space, while climbing mountains, crossed the polar ice cap, and meausured lap times while racing cars at very high speed.
These are purpose built tool watches, always have been.

A Speedy is meant to be worn. I wear mine most every day, my Dad used to wear it fishing.

That should be a Speedy advert. Great pic.

You'd rather save it for the next guy? Wear it, enjoy it, earn the patina.

My Speedy Moon is by far my favorite watch, and I probably wear it 4 days out of 7 on rotation w a couple of other watches that just aren’t as comfortable to wear.

I wear about 90% of my watches, but I'm not as dogmatic about wearing them as most people in this thread. Not every watch needs to be worn to be appreciated IMO.

For example, I have a few NOS pieces in original packaging that I will never wear. Also, I have some watches that I appreciate for historical, sentimental, and/or technological reasons, but they aren't practical to wear (including my PWs) and/or they don't appeal to me aesthetically. I even have a few non-running watches.

What is the point of having watches you're afraid to wear?

This is my 1904 model 156 Elgin, one of many pretty hard to replace old watches I own., I picked up this very clean piece this past winter and plan on putting some scratches on this solid gold puppy over the next few years.

My aunt was a professional photographer back in the film days when it took serious skill. This was no doubt one of her photos. She did photos for nation-wide ad campaigns, so it would not be totally out of character.

Yes, to reach a certain level of photography it still takes serious skill. However a little bit of effort and $1000 camera, even the most casual photographer like myself can get some very respectable photos. Auto-focus, image stabilization, auto light metering, etc. can often produce decent shots point-and-shoot. I regularly used to shoot a whole roll without a halfway decent image.

The only watch I haven't worn yet is a montblanc Timewalker chronograph on a bracelet. I love it, and want to wear it out for special and social times. I don't want to scratch the bracelet just working from home on the PC. If it was on leather I would wear it. Happy to wait a bit longer.

Stunning, I’ve a few vintage watches dating from 1918 up to 1967 and wear them regularly. Something about wearing vintage watches

Glad to see people actually wear their watches!
I can't have safe queens, what's the point. I also drive the shit out of my hobby cars (modified 450hp Volvo and Nissan Skyline).
I bought Zenith A3818 1 year ago and probably have been wearing it 50% of that time. It's the most expensive watch I have and for me a lot of money (8400€).

Afternoon all,

I recently bought a Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich which I’ve lusted after for years. £4,300 is a lot of money to spend on a watch, but my question is How many of you actually wear your luxury timepieces on a day to day basis. I’ve noticed how paranoid I was becoming about wearing mine because of scratching, catching, damaging the watch/bracelet. BUT It’s a Keeper this one and one I’ll pass to my eldest when it’s time so my outlook has changed. I’m wearing it as my daily wear and enjoying the wrist time without being paranoid as it’s purely mindset and after all what’s a watch for.
Interested on your thoughts??

I was a Rolex collector who at one time had most of the high end Rolex watches. Bought a Seamaster 300M that I wear 24/7 because I love how it looks and feels. As a consequence, I've sold everything and have become a one watch guy. Nope, even though I could afford it, I doubt I'll be jumping back into Rolex.
