·I wear them everyday, doing all kinds of activities. I am going ice diving this upcoming Sunday, I will be taking my Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial with me for that one as usual.

I suppose everything is relative. If I could afford it I would love a Patek Philippe Aquanaut. If I ever do get one I'd would be totally paranoid about wearing it though. I have decided to only buy watches I am comfortable wearing so if I do have an 'accident' I am less inclined to have a meltdown!
I totally agree with this. I paid less than $1K for my old Seamaster 20 some years ago and have never been afraid. Needless to say, even though I've already put the first scratch on my new Speedmaster, I'm exponentially more paranoid and careful with it than the watch it replaced.
I scratched my Snoopy and my Speedy Tuesday this week... It hurts but the joy of wearing them is still worth it...
A friend of mine text me yesterday he was lying in a hospital with a heart attack. He's 40. Just wear your watches and enjoy them. You live now. You can't enjoy them when you're dead.
A long time ago, our son was wearing cast off beaters that I kept on fixing up for him. When he turned 9, I let him wear my Rolex Air-King, to see if it would stand up. In short order, he trashed the crystal, broke the rotor post, broke the stem, and finally, I took it away from him when he trashed the bracelet. This was all in one year! He was back to wearing disposable watches until he could afford to buy his own. Mostly, today he wears Timex watches, but will occasionally wear one of several decent ones I have given him. The Air-King went back into my collection, after I fixed it up. The Air-King today, with its spiffy NOS genuine Rolex 14-karat yellow gold bezel. After-market bracelet.
