·For sale is a nice Eterna-Matic Chronometre with uncommon black waffle dial and stainless steel case.
The dial is difficult to photograph due to glare on the crystal, but it in excellent condition. The markers are applied with gilt lettering. The stainless steel case is 34.5 mm in diameter excluding the crown and 44mm from lug-to-lug. The case has been polished in the past, but the lug facets and serial number on the back are all visible. Minimal scratches to the back from prior opening attempts.
The hands are original with some minor lume loss to the minute and hour hands. The crown is signed Eterna, which I believe is original. The cal 1243UC Chronometre-Automatic movement is in very nice condition. There are some signs of previous rotor rub, but the rotor was tightened and issue was corrected. This watch was was actually owned by efauser in the past and was serviced in December 2016 according to the prior sales listing.
Overall, a really fun watch with good movement and attractive black waffle dial. The case serial would date this to around 1951. It will come on the black leather textured strap pictured in the photos, which complements the watch nicely.
