Up for sale is this great looking early 1960s Longines in all-stainless steel, featuring a beautiful original black dial with very cool stylized gold indices and engine turned subsidiary seconds chapter. This great vintage Longines is in overall excellent condition and is powered by the terrific in-house caliber 30L hand wound movement. There is no service history, the watch is running fine, but a service is always recommended. A classic gent's dress size at 35mm in diameter, this Longines wears large, as they say, because of the small bezel, big face and long, beefy lugs. I've already received an heritage certificate on paper from Longines and this reference 7176 was originally sold in 1963 in Sweden, the country where I sourced the watch. Obviously, I'll provide this certificate to the lucky new owner of this cool Longines.

Case & Back:

The stainless steel case consists of three pieces: a slim press-on bezel and a screw-in back.
The classic men’s dress size is 35mm wide (excluding the crown).
The elongated lugs have crisp chamfers.
Despite superficial marks and scratches from wear, the case appears relatively unpolished.
The back has minor scratches mainly visible under direct light.
Overall, the case and back are in excellent original condition for a 60 year old watch.
The inner case and back lip show no visible corrosion. what you see is dirt.
The correct reference for this model is 7176, commonly found in the European market and Scandinavia.

Dial & Hands:

The original black dial features engine-turned subsidiary seconds.
Full golden indices and the Longines “wings” logo adorn the dial.
The dial printing and minute/seconds ticks remain crisp.
The eccentric gold indices give this watch a distinctive and classy look.
Some slight discoloration is visible under light in a few spots.
The luminous dots could have been relumed, not entirely sure.
The golden dauphine hour and minute hands show signs of minor oxidation.
The small golden sub-seconds hand is also in excellent condition.

Crown:

The signed steel crown is clean and sharp looking and winds nicely.

Crystal:
The nicely domed acrylic crystal unfortunately has a small crack on the right side.

Asking price is 500 euro head only. The watch is located in Germany and will be sold head only. EU shipping is 15 euro, US around 30 euro, but I can also ship worldwide with a few exceptions, please PM me for a shipping quote. Both bank transfer/Wise and PayPal are accepted, but I strongly prefer the former. No returns unless I have grossly misrepresented the watch.

Here are some of my references, feel free to ask for more:
