Best one thus far (and not just because it directly helps me 😉)
This video confirms that it will be a long while till I find my -69.

William,
thanks again for another great video.
The topic was right to the point, since I am going to start searching for my first -69.

Your approach to describe the basic color of the dial with black and the additional / secondary color is excellent and reminds me of my work in the art print graphics workshop, where we had many different shades of black available. Brown-black, red-black, blue-black, ...

At 1:12 prices mentioned up to US $ 12000.00... better go for a 145.012 " caliber 321 " Speedmaster found for less than those prices 🤔

Great video once again!

One note on the otherwise lovely production: There seem to be some humming background noice. Don't know if it's from the equipment of from a nearby refrigerator.

Don’t forget $12,000 for a 145.022-69 should get you the most spectacular example.

a 145.012 at 12,000 will have some blemishes.

should still be pretty good

It was the light! It goes away I think.
(Appreciate the input. I didn’t notice it until I posted it and - well it took a week of negotiating with children to find the time to get this far...)

Their sacrifise is appreciated!

Yes, it's loudest in the beginning. Later only faintly audible when using headphones.
Getting sound right is in many ways trickier than lighting.

A minor typo in the title-card at 4:24 does not detract from another otherwise fine video. PM me if you'd like a completely independent set of eyes for such things on upcoming videos.

Also, I wonder if you'd discuss your thoughts on assembling a watch from a collection of the best parts: Brown dial from one plus DON from another, plus unpolished case from a third, and so on. As you clearly have a wealth of pieces to draw from, you could surely put together a ridiculously perfect/valuable watch.

This issue comes up often. It seems that people have very different sentiments about it.

Some believe "original" should only extend to what the watch was born with. Others feel the term can extend to whether an identical twin donated a part or two. In other words, you have a great watch with a slammed bezel. You find a donor bezel with the exact DNA, meaning, looks identical, same era. You make the switch, and now the watch is much more aesthetically pleasing. No longer "original," from a purist's standpoint, but indentical equipment, so does it matter? To some yes, others, no.

Thank you for that truly fabulous video. There is really nothing better then hearing an unassuming expert talk about their thing. I really enjoyed it.

There's actually an Omega Speedmaster 2998-62 for sale at this very forum for less than the top-prices mentioned for a 1969-Speedmaster 😀
