EOA question regarding US version Omegas

Hi guys. I was thinking of getting an Extract for my 60's Seamaster DeVille but then realized it's a US version (LL6066 cal. 550). I'm guessing it would be impossible though for the EOA to have record of it. Just wanted to confirm that. Or was there some system where the case builder reported it to Bienne.....yea right. 🙁

I don't think Omega ever got Norman Morris' records, so they probably don't have the information regarding US cases. Extracts do return inconclusive, iirc.

Theoretically, Omega should be able to issue an extract showing that movement was exported to the USA and the date sent.

If the movement has the “OXG” marking, you have half of the above information and you can consult dating charts all over the web to get the rest.

Save your money.

Date the movement via serial number and add 6 months to when it was shipped to the US.

An extract will be the same you will pay the for of a nice strap so treat yourself to a nice strap instead of a useless piece of paper. 👍
