We went through the suggestions made on thread and he has decided that the 2903 is his most preferred option.
A beautiful watch, and one that will save me a few quid versus a Piepan

Great choice. In addition to a clean unrefinished dial and original. hands and crown, one of the most important things to look for in this reference is an unpolished case. Refer back the photo of my 2903 on the previous page of this thread and you will see that the lugs have facets. On many of the 2903's that you'll find listed for sale, the case has been polished and the facets on the lugs are the first thing to go. Avoid purchasing an example where the facets on the lugs have been polished away. Keep in mind also that the 2903 is not the only cursive Geneve reference. There are similar references that are just as attractive including some date, automatics and jumbo versions, so don't confine your search just to the 2903 reference.

Yes an early Geneve is an excellent choice, and very good value. Some of mine:

Funny, I’ve been going through and organizing who has dibs’d what, and so far (still have the past ~15 months to go through), this one has a list of 19 names.

Did you sell that one on eBay? I bought the same one last year from a US seller for a very reasonable price!

No, sold here on the forum. I also was mistaken, it was a 14703, not a 2903. Edited above.

it is a 167.005 dome dial dogleg Constellation
(A ref 14900 would look the same. )

The 14902/168.005 would be the date version.

Get a cursive Geneve or otherwise look for Longines Conquest. The problem is a good example for a reasonable price takes a while to find.

Folks, could I ask for an opinion on this 2782 please.
I'm in no immediate rush to buy, the lad's birthday isn't until late March but I am finding it hard to find decent examples of what I'm after.
As always, any tips appreciated
