Hey friends

I just stumbled upon and purchased this watch here in Tokyo. Movement also says Edward. Can’t find anything online. But I’m seriously enjoying the watch. Anyone know anything about it? @Tony C. perhaps??? Thanks

It’s beautiful.

Did the inside caseback have any information? Love to see a photo of the movement.

But I wonder if those greenish surrounds for 12, 3, 6 and 9 are radium. If they are, then that’s a couple of healthy globs to be exposed to.

Very attractive watch. I'd be willing to glow in the dark in order to wear it on occasion.

Very cool and interesting watch. Seems to be all original!

How big is it? It seems quite large for its age.

Can we see the movement?

I stupidly forgot to take a pic when the seller opened it for me. Going back to the store tomorrow anyway. Pic to follow!

Hi Aaron,

Nice find! I am bot familiar with the brand, but a photo of the movement should lead to some insight.

Cheers,

Tony

Unusual train bridge shape, I've seen the stars on the ratchet wheel before.

Peseux caliber?

I'll have a look later, dinner calls.

Off the top of my head, it resembles the later Alpina movements (e.g. cal. 592).

Sorry, got sidetracked.

I suspect it's one of those watches, of which there were many hundreds, made to order by one of the established factories and given a brand by the owner of the company distributing them.

It doesn't come up in my soft or hard copies or watch movement references.

It's not an unusual caliber and the bridge layout was used by many manufacturers, Alpina (as Tony mentioned), Aurore (Cal 42), Felsa (Cal 77, Cal 108), Arogno (Cal 152) and many others.

As there are no indicators that I can see (anything under the balance?) the only way to find out more is to check under the dial for the layout of the setting works which are like a watches fingerprint.

There is a listing in Mikrolisk wherein the name Edward appears. FWIW.
