Ed White 105.003-65 Bracelet Question

Hello,

I am new to this forum and new to vintage so please excuse me if I am asking an obvious question.

A little background first...I recently purchased my first vintage watch that was a birth year/date and it is a little rough but I am trying to warm up to the piece. As the thread references I bought I 105.003-65 and it came with a 7912 bracelet that has a date of 4/63 (I believe as it is not so easy to read) with one "16" and one "516" end link.

I have been researching a lot and believe what really belongs with my Ed White from July of 67 is the 1035 1501 bracelet with "6" end links....is this correct?

Thank you for any help anyone could provide!!

Mark

One thing I can tell you for sure, in a collecting venue where things are not often certain: the 516 end-link, and a 105.003 have never been associated. It has been shaved/filed to fit, if it’s on your watch.

Sadly what M'Bob says. On my Ed White, the 516 links were shaved. 🙁

Yeah, I have a few like that too. But all things considered, it’s still the second-best alternative.

Your question brings up a topic that is often debated: what’s an acceptable time-period range for bracelet and watch. The purists say they should be within months of each other; in reality, a year or two could be okay because sometimes either bracelet or watch could have sat in stock before being mated to each other.

That said, you are right, the 1963 7912 is too early for your watch. But still a very desirable bracelet, which you may be able to sell or swap for a 1035, which I think would be a closer match to what you have. Plus a pair of 506 end-links.

All I can tell you is to confirm that my 105.003.65 has a 1035 bracelet with No6 end links which have been on the watch since new. Oh and welcome to the forum!

Thank you...I like this option to sell or swap for a 1035 and glad to hear the 7912 is something good to barter with. 😀

Thank you this is what I noticed on a couple of "for sale/sold" websites I found and had listed these exact specs as being original. I like to "trust" but "verify" when possible. 😉

You can try to look for the 6 endlinks or trade the 7912 with a combo of 1035/506 or 1035/6

Just one other point, I see yours is from July 67, mine is June 67 so quite close. This does not necessarily mean they should nave the same bracelet, selection was pretty random back then, and certainly movement numbers varied wildly, even on watches manufactured a few days apart. Just a bit more information.

Yes I can see now that my 516 is shaved...so no real value I assume 🙁

Yes thank you for the comment/suggestion...I believe I will try to trade or purchase the 1035/6 combination...looking like that will be expensive. I am still trying to find a reasonable value to place on my 7912 and 16 end link.

Thank you for the follow up information...I believe I will have the 1035/6 combination as my first prize and see how successful or should I say lucky I will be... 😀
