1968 Omega Ed White 105.003 Speedmaster: Buy Advice

Hi all, this 105.003 is up for sale priced at £10,500. I think this is a relatively fair price - the watch looks in original condition and the bracelet code is the original flat link 1035. I’m wondering whether this watch would need a re-lume given the existing material has disintegrated (I’m aware this may reduce its value though). If I was to get it re-lumed then I’d commission James Hyman as I understand he is the best. The case edges look relatively sharp. Is everything definitely original and in good condition for the price? Thank you!

Movement and inside Caseback important to see.
And outside Caseback cannot be assessed on the last overexposed photo.

-64, -65? What do they offer exactely?

Btw they have another one which is cheaper and looks better IMO...

Personally, I would pass. The lume is unattractive. Even if you do re-lume it, it would be hard to sell if it ever came to it. A relumed dial is also a non-starter for some. There is also hand drag on one of the sub dials, in case you missed that.

When asking for questions about pricing, you should include all relevant information, e.g. about accessories, extract, etc.

In this case, the dial lume is a major distraction for me. And if you're going to buy a watch that needs to be relumed, you might as well buy a project watch and pay a lot less, IMO, because it will always be hard to sell to a collector.

on the bottom sweep seconds subdial you can see a white line drawn out by the hand.

I'd want more detailed photos before I'd consider spending £10k+ . The lume is unappealing. The hand drag, if that's what it is and not an unfortunate reflection would cause me to look elsewhere.

re-lume a watch with original tritium is not a issue for me....
If that’s the case then surely you would want it as a keeper?

The mark can be seen subtly in "image 2 of 8", so i doubt a reflection.

As others have said, the lume is not attractive. I wouldn’t buy it, personally.
