Hi OF
I have a contender for the best eBay bargain of the year. Read on and feel free post your own bargain finds.

I love ebay. I know it has its detractors and downsides but still the biggest pond for fishing, and I love to fish. Caught this one last week.

The pictures from eBay:

What arrived:

What I paid:

Yup, reading that correctly, no missing digits. Delivered price after shipping and taxes was $250.19 and yes that is USD. 😁

Do you have a verified contender to take the crown of eBay Bargain of the year? Show us!

I think I have one of my own. I can't access the sales listing as it was from earlier this year but I did find I screenshot I had of it. You can see the little preview images for the other images in the listing- they were all of odd angles and didn't really show much other than the watch and one of the bracelet clasp. The listing title was completely wrong as it was not a Seamaster nor was it a cal 562.

No one else bid on it but me.

The ad stated may not ship to the US, but the seller graciously did. Two weeks later, this arrived (my pics below)

Complete with a 17cm, 1039 bracelet and 516 end links. Though, unfortunately the end links had been filed down. The bracelet was in pretty good condition.

I actually had this in my watch list and forgot to bid! ::facepalm1::

Then I ended up buying the watch from you!👍

I think those seiko parts and empty cases I sold over the weekend may be one of the better bargans someone will be getting . One actually sold for more than the 99cent starting bid. Postage the purchaser paid was still more than the total.

I am lucky to see 65 cents and the buyer pays nearly 10USD. Still they do make it easy to sell and ship such things.

I still think that box of bulova watches could be a real bargain for someone. And they are less than 10 dollars a watch at the current starting bid. Too bad the potential bidders mentally add in the 200 to 400 service per watch to get a working watch from them.

ah, but don't discount the hobbyist. We.....errrrrr......... THEY buy watches and attempt to repair. Keeps them out of the bars. 😀

For instance, the average observer sees shit. I say: IS THAT A HELVETIA??? I'M IN!!

Helvetica watches are keeper watches

(oh wait, those are the Helbros watches.)
Here is the Helvetica

It even runs when shaken.

One can never have too many watches (unless they are bulovas or seikos) and even then there are those who would disagree. Of course those who do have a Rollex are happy with just one lonely little watch.

Is Ebay Kleinanzeigen also allowed? Its a German Flea market side, owned by Ebay. My catches are these:

Heuer 1550SG "Bund" for 600€ and a East-German Ruhla Kampftaucher (military diver) for 90€.

I love boxes of shit!

Bags of shit are good, too (boxes are for posh people 😉). Two of my best bargains (Certina, Cyma) have come out of bags with old straps, cruddy quartz watches, etc.

If you are from the mid-west I guess it would be a sack of shit.

I’ve had a pretty good years for bargains, but the best have been off eBay. Did however get these two within 4 days back in February. $90 for the Longines and $245 for the Connie.

I still think my eBay bargain is up there with the best BUT I really think the ultimate bargain of the year 2022 was in our own OF Private Sales section. Remember this one?

I was too slow, responded #3 (of probably 50+) but just a reminder to always check OF Sales forums.
Yeah, that was freaky! He actually had people saying- fix the fucker- are you insane!!! But he sold it I guess. Hasn’t been back to the forum since.
