I search Ebay every day but due to the spelling error I - of course - missed this one.

ah, but don't discount the hobbyist. We.....errrrrr......... THEY buy watches and attempt to repair. Keeps them out of the bars. 😀

For instance, the average observer sees shit. I say: IS THAT A HELVETIA??? I'M IN!!

Where ... where ... !!! Let me through!!

Helvetica watches are keeper watches

(oh wait, those are the Helbros watches.)

I bet you anything that the Helbros with the black dial at the top right has a Helvetia 820 movement in it though! Probably 820B. And probably Helvetia case ref 3190?

I'd be interested in the details, serial number, movement confirmation etc if you have them. These were a batch of watches made for Helbros by Helvetia during the war and I am doing some research into Helvetia's exports to the US at this time.

Thanks. Carl.

I noticed this on eBay last year.the seller was local and so put in a bid.knowing I could collect in person if I wanted.purchased it for £350,since then the watch stopped working and so it was sent via my local AD to omega in Switzerland for a full service.£390.now back with me.great little 1980’s omega that will hopefully be worn for many years to come.would there be any profit in it if sold? Probably a little but that’s not important.

My best buy from eBay was actually a Helbros marked Helvetia too.

Helbros sold a batch of pilots watches made for them by Helvetia in about 1943. Helvetia 3411 cases and Helvetia 82A movements.

Some of these watches had white dials, unusual for 1928 pattern type watches. They come up every now and then for over $1,000 normally.

One of my saved eBay searches came up with one for a starting price of $69 so I thought I'd add it to my watch list and see if it sold for a reasonable price. Then I looked again, Buy It Now $69! I don't think I've moved as fast in years!

I was fortunate to find this waiting for me on eBay. Not easy to find. It’s with my watchmaker now for a movement service and installation of a correct crown and crystal.

Got this for under 200 the last chronometer the NAVY used before going to GPS the GPS a bad idea read the Russians are messing with the GPS signals in Ukraine since most modern weapons systems like drones and missiles use them. The cheapest deal I ever got off eBay for a deck chronometer.

And we have a winner! You win your bet .You are correct as to the 820. The import code is HXW so points there as well. Sadly someone cut the lugs. Which is too bad as this has a good balance and would be a great candidate for restoration.
This is a bit off topic for this thread. A this was not an eBay score. I was showing of my Helbros hord.
I made a new thread to continue this analysis. It is quite interesting.
