I've had my Speedmaster (co axial 9300) for a good few years now, and someone mentioned the dot over the 90 as being a special Speedmaster thing. I've looked at mine but can't really see anything special or different about it, am I missing something ?
Dot over 90 bezels are a thing from vintage Speedmasters mainly from the 50s and 60s, your 9300 isn’t meant to have one and that’s ok as its a modern Speedy and an automatic rather than a Moonwatch, its a cool piece in its own right, care to post some pics?
Well, they’re also a very modern thing - I don’t think Omega currently sells a Speedy Pro or 321 that doesn’t have a DON bezel And let’s not forget …
The new and very modern 3861 comes with a DON bezel. My brand new 1861 Speedy happened to come with one straight from Omega
Following this, I just noticed that my Snoopy 50th has a dot over the ninety, and my Tokyo 2020 has a dot on the ninety. Happy with both. See pics side by side.
I'm holding out for the NOD bezel. Coming soon to a Speedmaster near you. I hear these things will appreciate like crazy.
Yup! They do. Adam Lewis used to incorporate these into his custom "vintage" builds until Omega restricted access for them. Here is a thread of a couple other members talking about buying a new late model 1861, which had the new 3861 bezel on it: https://omegaforums.net/threads/1861-with-don-bezel.128741/ Which is what happened with mine. I bought mine new from an Omega AD. Here is the only picture I took of it before I modded it to what it is now
So now that the DON bezel is standard issue on the new Ed White and the 3861 Speedy Pro, does the DNN bezel become collectible and skyrocket in value in 10, 15, 25 years? Your guess is as good as mine.
