This wasn't meant to be polite at all. Polite would have been to say "Welcome to the site and thanks for your question. It might get a better response if posted to this other thread."

This was a passive-aggressive jab that you and your buddy seem to enjoy applying at the drop of a hat.
Welcome to the forum.
Please don't complicate things. You needed telling. Nobody is going to hold it against you.
Please start a new thread so we can discuss your watch.

Welcome to the forum. Thanks, that was really nice.
Please don't complicate things. Not sure about this one but I wasn't trying to make anything complicated.
You needed telling. I needed telling? That's the most pompous statement I've heard in a long time.
Nobody is going to hold it against you. I'm just trying to get some feedback on a watch. Why would I care what you hold against me?
Please start a new thread so we can discuss your watch. Now this is perfect. Polite, informative, and straight to the point. Thanks.

I've never posted to a forum before but it's obvious that some of you have been here awhile and have established your own little fiefdoms which you testily defend. So be it, I don't really care. I joined to learn about watches not forums. As per your suggestion. I will start another thread with my question.

You needed telling you were in the wrong thread, & to start a new one.
I don't have a fiefdom, but each forum has its own character, which changes over time, usually. You will get used to it, or not.
Onee thing worth noting: almost every statement is open to interpretation. Misinterpretation is easy. Just bear that in mind, when online.

A forum is a community, like any other, that has its own style of interactions. It's not a bad idea to spend some time absorbing and understanding the way that people interact in a given community.

Members are not paid to answer questions, and questions get more responses if they are about interesting watches (which, honestly, yours is not) or the poster is friendly, polite, and sympathetic (which, so far, you are not). Generally, people make an effort to introduce themselves and join the community when asking a question, and they don't immediately turn around and make wild accusations against valued members like @JimInOz who have an extensive history of being extremely helpful to newcomers.

New to the hobby and trying to learn as much as possible. I came across this watch on Goodwill Auctions a couple of weeks ago. I contacted their customer service and mentioned a couple of things that didn't look right. They pulled the ad and sent it to Authenticate First to be checked. They were told its real and have relisted it. Goodwill claimed that they couldn't get the back open. They also won't test the gold content even though they mention the methods they use to test it on other items.

Original listing: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/56098842

New listing: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/56733014

My concerns:
1. The lettering and minute marks on the face are fuzzy around the edges and indistinct.
2. The date doesn't line up with the window.
3. Some of the "Gold" appears to have worn off. (I can't find any reference to a gold plated or filled version of this watch)
4. The stamping on the clasp looks a little "off".
5. Most of these that I can find pictures of have a serial number on the back just under the observatory.
6. I'm not sure if the hands are correct for this watch.

It might be a lousy redial on an authentic watch the fact that they haven't opened it and won't test the gold makes me suspicious.

What do you think?

I don't have one of these to compare to, as it's not really my cup of tea, but I would agree with you that something seems "off". Regardless the current bid price is far over what I think anyone here would be willing to gamble on it.

It’s obvious you have never posted on a forum before and I can assure you if you continue with your current attitude you will not be posting here at all soon.

Hello, all. I really appreciate this thread as I'm slowly but surely trying to educate myself. Based on everything I've read here, this one is also a fake with the "antimagnetic" wording on the dial and the outer case markings. Can fakes be mailed to Omega for destruction? Or is it best to just simply thrown them in the trash? Thanks in advance for any help!

My bad. I thought this was to determine fakes. I'll delete the post.

Hmmmm. Had a look at it today, and the watch specialist from the auction said he thought it was his pick of the sale...
