I have come across a rather strange watch. The face of the watch says P.A. Collot Durban who was a Jeweller in 1899 operating in Durban. What is inside the watch appears to be an Omega (or a replica of an Omega Caliber 13) but is similar to Omega Trench Watches of around 1913-1914. There are no serial numbers on the watch back but the front does have a serial number 2112132. The watch is in a silver snap back case. Can anyone shed any light on this? I am simply interested in whether Omega actually manufactured this movement to be sold in client watches as I have not been able to find any information.

Read the last three words of the thread title.

I just bought this on Ebay - felt really good about it and then started feeling suspicious... any thoughts? I have 14 days to return it after it is shipped to me.

Should have started a new thread. Did you read the title?

This Seamaster Deville seems like it has a pretty small watch face and the back is marked waterproof. I was under the impression 1960 series Deville are not waterproof. Fake?

It's authentic.

since these don't come up too often anymore - worth posting this " 18k Constellation" classic fake for those who haven't seen one
some good notes from Desmond for those interested in more detail - last couple of pages make for useful reading

I've dropped the relevant UK auction house a polite note about the watch
