Possibly - they normally have some red accents on the dial that this one doesn't have, so that makes me wonder but it does resemble a model Omega made in the 90's. Uses an Omega Cal. 1400 auto-quartz movement.

I'm more often wrong than right and will happily learn from the experience. I didn't mean for the the word 'thing' to come across so strongly.

Definitely not real Omega, and more than likely not real gold either.

I have to disagree..... tin is actually a fairly expensive metal, currently about nine times the price of aluminium..... that thing is hardly worth that much!

it may however be worth its weight in cabbage leaves.... or mouse droppings.....

Hi, I just bought this watch on ebay. It was sold with a repro face and has a replacement strap but everything else is meant to be real. I'm a bit suspicious though as it seems to be in too good a condition for a watch which is 50 years old. It's movement is Cal 562 and the serial number is 23198139. About to post another one I bought from same guy. Watch doesn't have original crystal either, I believe it to be hesalite. It measures 34mm without crown and 42mm with lug. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you

Hi, here is the second one. 1970's - Cal:1481. Seller claims that serial number is 75945735 but this number is nowhere to be seen inside and this serial number does not appear to be legit http://bit.ly/1BvMTfY . Also it is mean to have 24 jewels but I cannot detect any jewels in the back. Number on the inside of case back is 166.066. I have no idea if this is real. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you, John

JCDefo, both watches are genuine Omegas but have refinished dials and have been "restored". Neither watch would have originally had a dial looking anything like what are on them now. These are what I like to call "fantasy" dials. done to excite the newby buyer.

Both watches while genuine are really just crap.

Thanks for your response, do you think bodies are reproduction as well as they're in such good condition I doubt they are original or genuine parts. If I can mention that it would help my case to get my money back via ebay.

    Thank you

Sorry, I don't see anything which would indicate the cases aren't genuine, they have just been shined up to look pretty.

If you like the look of the watches, keep them. I kinda like them. Just know that the potential collector value is very low.

Yes, its genuine. The numbers inside the case back are reference numbers, not serial numbers. Its not uncommon for Omegas of this vintage to have two different reference numbers. One typically for a strap and one for a watch supplied with a bracelet.
