But I know it's fake, that's why I post it here
Yes, it is very fake. You were asking questions about the piece, which is why I pointed out this thread is not for questions.

Hi all,

I'm looking at the following watch. I'm pretty sure it's legit but thought I'd check this forum. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

I guess you didn't read the title of this thread where it says "Not For Questions".

It’s legit, but you will likely be happier in the long run if you wait, save a little more, and buy an Omega with a mechanical movement instead of quartz.

I would forget it. Dial is poorly repainted. caseback looks too polished. you can find much better exemples.

Is it genuine though? I’m not a collector, more for use and to enjoy it so I don’t mind repainting as I’m not the type to notice!

If you have it repainted it’ll still be a repainted watch in poor shape and the process will cost you. Why not buy something nice for less in total, something you can actually resell should you ever need to?

@ezchap
this thread is really for posting recognised fakes, so people less familiar can recognise them.

However, 'genuine' can be a much maligned and much abused word.
Yes, the watch is likely all genuine - but it is most certainly not original.

and also, as this watch is meant as a present for your boyfriend, then you might ask him if he would like a repainted unoriginal watch.

Would you have any suggestions of what to buy?
Thanks!

I genuinely don’t think he would care. I’m very into antiques but he really just wants a watch.

"A real collector's item. Omega Seamaster watch ~1939 on the legendary caliber 30T2.
The birth of the Seamaster era in a model that has not yet become waterproof 🌊 .
The second one probably does not exist.
The peculiarity of this model is also that the name of the caliber is applied to the dial."

Omega gigantic s.a. 🤣
