Does this look legit?

Posted this in the Heuer forum, but was curious if some of you would have some insight on here as well. I haven't bought this watch, but have been lightly considering it, but knowing very little about older Heuer, I want to do my homework before I would consider buying it. Clearly the dial has been refinished, which doesn't really bother me. I did notice the markings of "Ed Heuer." Would this dial have originally been marked Heuer?

Did you notice that it is 28mm?
Yes. That didn't bother me. How does it look to you in terms of genuine or non genuine status?

I really know nothing about this particular reference, and since the dial is refinished, there's not much to go by. The one thing I find strange is that the finish on the signed chronograph bridge is completely different than the rest of the movement. Even putting that aside, overall, given the size and the refinished dial, I would not expect the watch to appeal to very many collectors, so the asking price is hard to understand.

I noticed that as well. Looks like the bridge may have faded. Strangely, I really enjoy little vintage chronos like this, but def don't want to buy a franken.

Since it's a Lemania with different names on it, I'd suggest you just buy a Lemania.

You're right, I think it is. It looks a lot like a similar Lemania.

I like Lemania. 😁

28mm plus a redial and at $1900 is a very easy pass

The hands look a bit oddd to me: I can't remember another watch where the lume was painted directly onto the metal, normally it is let in to holes in the hands.

Does it look like a fake/franken to any of you guys?

Absolutely. As I already mentioned, the chronograph bridge has been swapped out. Also, JXS is not the import code for Heuer. So overall, I seriously doubt the movement is Heuer. If you ask questions, I feel you should be prepared to actually hear the answers, don't just brush them off with comments like "the bridge has faded", whatever that means. Generally the movement should be consistent in color. This is something we all look at. And when the ONLY branded part of the watch is a completely different color, that's more than suspicious.

Even if it were totally legit, it's not worth more than a few hundred USD given the size, poor re-dial, and absence of branding.
