Does this dial look relumed? (105.012)

Hi all!
I had this piece in hand today but forgot to take my uv light (should always carry one on the pocket! ). It’s a 105.012-66
I also took those pictures that, I realize now, aren’t very good to assess the lume...And the ambient light was bad.

While I thought at first it was spectacular (everything period correct, spotless dial and bezel...) I’m now having a little doubt if the lume isn’t too « perfect » to be true : no lume loss and matching patina all over without any spots.
Is it possible to know from those pictures?

I’d want to see it in hand with a magnifying loupe to be sure.

The condition of the case (those lugs look a little dinged but unpolished) suggests that it is possible that the dial is original. The lume looks too perfect to me, so I’d want to examine it real carefully.

I also question whether the lume on -66s was applied this thinly/lightly. Experts will chime in.

Could be a valuable example.

Your photos are not particularly high resolution. Do you have higher definition versions?

My guess : not relumed.

Thanks! If that’s indeed true, then 🥰🥰!!
The case is a little bumped on the lower right lug, but beside that, it looks great (to my eyes!)

A couple of blow ups to aid the discussion

I’m actually more inclined to say it’s okay now. Go figure.

In my opinion... no. I tried to enlarge your image of the dial and it does appear that there are very small areas where lume is lacking, most noticeably at 3 and 7 plots.

Going purely off those pictures, if I had to make a call either way; original.

It looks good to me (FWIW). If it's a relume it is a very good one!

I don't have any real reason to doubt the lume based on those photos.

Looks great to me as well. Check out that minute hand, towards the center you can see that it's aging into a darker color. I'm not too sure with the dial tritium though cause it looks too good. Then again, the dial overall is in great condition. My vote is all original...

Thanks, it seems like I overreacted! 😁
If the lume is correct, where do you think it would be on speedmaster101’s scale? I would say very good except maybe for the dings on the case...But then again, I prefer a case like this probably never polished than a shiny looking one 😀
It’s a 24+M

Thanks for the pictures. Do you have the exact serial number? The seller was very coy about that.

Given the obvious dings and overal condition, I wouldn't be surprised if the lume were original as well.

Don't go out expecting to get a bargain with this seller though.

colors of indecis and hands and the fade are almost identical and matched with each other.
imo, dial is original.😉 i love those tiny scratches and it shows that the watch was a workhorse.

Close to very good IMO but in the end an academic question...

If pricing is OK I would say its a 'must buy', not often available in that condition.

Do you have an asking price?

just sold at a local french auction, 9200 eur + 27/29% => 14K usd, which is still a fair price considering two lots earlier there was a gold-capped C-shape connie for 1500 euro + cost

I would buy a watch in this condition and would wear it with pride 🥰
