Hi, I got this Omega Seamaster Deville (circa 1965) 18K solid gold. I know the dial was cleaned. Does it look like original from these pictures? Would you, please also tell how much this would worth? Strap is genuine aligator leather but not Omega
I'm sure the dial itself is original. The question is whether it has been repainted. Based on a couple of things, minute markers and thick writing, I'm gonna say yes. I have been known to be wrong, however. Just ask my wife.
It looks like a redial from the photos. And the strap looks like lizard more than alligator. Case is still seems sharp from the photos. I guess it's worth as much as the case and movement inside.
How about this Geneve Dynamic? I don't know when it was the last time it was serviced, but it runs perfectly well as well.
I know it looks old which makes me think it's original. So, what would you do about this dial to look better and not depreciate the watch?
The Dynamic is most likely original. It is in rough shape. The dial has too many problems to mention. The crown, although Omega, appears to have been replaced and I suspect is the wrong one. In my opinion your options are: Leave it as is and enjoy it. Have it redialed. Look for a replacement. They do come available from time to time on Ebay.
Thank you. From what I've on another post there's an essay about Omega Dynamic watches and according to it either the dial or the sweep have been replaced as well, because charcoal dial goes with red sweep not blue. So, should I get a replacement I should get a blue dial. Right?
