Just out of interest, what is the build quality on TAG Heuer compared to Omega?
Once you get past a certain price point, and Heuer is certainly beyond it. it will be perfectly fine for everyday wear.

When your spouse sees you searching watch listing and asks “why can’t you look at porn like a normal person”, then maybe you know you have a problem.
Ha ha my wife bought a new table today, I told her it was too expensive and we didn’t need it. She said “it was cheaper the watch you got” just shut me up took all the argument out of me.

There are times when we realise it is best to say nothing 😉

That was my feeling. Certainly felt nice when trying in at the AD. Asking as the Aquaracer with Calibre5 appears to have various faults, based on some posts within the Cailbre11 forum.

Interesting thread!! I think for many the more you scratch the more you feed the itch!! The one piece of advice I’d give though is that in most cases the “deal of a lifetime” will come again and there will be another “must have”. Okay, I know this isn’t always true but in the vast majority of instances don’t be afraid to walk away. Often I’ve regretted missing out on an opportunity only to subsequently find a better option. Take your time and enjoy the ride 😀

I think another issue can be one of not fulfilling the itch completely. If the desire is for one thing, but we try to satiate it with a “lesser” substitutes, you just keep searching. I’ve had this before when I think this is “just as good”, but it never is. Once you get what you actually wanted, you find you are done with that one- checked off the list. It can cost you more over time trying to avoid buying the big goal and scratching the itch with ones that just don’t hit the mark. Save up for it, get it- enjoy the splendor of the win.

One thing I find ironic is with the time and money I put into watches, and I’m not a big roller I’m more like mid lower tier but regardless it can be an expensive hobby, it is very infrequently anyone comments on any watch I wear. Today three people commented on how nice my coworkers sweater was (she told me she payed 25 bucks at TJ Max for it) and not a comment on my mini me smp. Now it could be that my coworker is a young attractive female and I’m just the dude but nonetheless no one gives a shot about what I have on my wrist.
I prefer it that way it’s just kind of odd when you consider it. I have actually had my chops busted by another coworker for still wearing a watch the has hands. “Get a smart watch like normal humans.” Damn good thing I didn’t tell her the watch didn’t have a battery. She is a cat lover so she is cool despite the insults directed at my watches.
It’s just a thing, just a watch, I like them, I have struggled to pace myself at times as being in a rush to acquire can lead to mistakes. I did pick up a few decent ones this year, nothing real fancy just decent.

Some people aren't happy unless they find something to complain about.

I don't believe the itch goes away.
It intensify every time I gave into it and add a watch.
My goal this entire year is not to add anymore to my box.
It will be a difficult 38 days.

Amen.

Here’s how you can self-diagnose:

At 7pm—a healthy hobby
At 2am— a disease

The itch only seems to worsen. Someone above commented that good deals always pop up. I have experienced this twice in the last 18 months. Set out to find a piece, missed a deal, then whammo, ended up with a better deal.
Softly looking for a PO2500, one just sold in canada for 4400cad. Timing wasn't right for me being close to xmas, but another will pop up in 2022 I am sure. I also know as soon as I get it I'll be after a railmaster, the slower I can drag my heels and enjoy the hunt the better.

So enjoy the journey not the destination.

lol- how many you up to now 3 nice watches?
Still no further damage, but I am white knuckling it to avoid #5. And I am not helped by the fact that I know what #5 will probably be…also, just this last weekend my wife said “you can get another watch if you want to”. Resistance is futile!

Buying another only makes the itch go away temporarily.

The itch is driven by being having your consciousness constantly immersed in watches. The only way for the itch to go away is to step back and disengage for a bit.
