My understanding is that they do not, which makes no sense to me, but can someone confirm whether this is correct? If they do not, suggestions for best insurer for high value items >$5,000 for US domestic shipments, please? Thanks.

Parcel Pro…You will need to apply and be accepted. Its not hard. Easy to use once a member. You will need however to correctly estimate the shipping cost if you are quoting a delivered price.

Thank you.
You also have a choice of shippers even though PP is a division of UPS. I use FedEx.

You can always use the US Postal system, you can get coverage up to $50,000. Somewhat slow due to their custody handling procedures for high value items, but ultimate safety. Have used them several times for >$20k watches, never an issue.

I’ve done multiple shipments with secursus in the US. They charge 1% of the value and I didn’t have to jump through hoops like trying to get a parcelpro account. They allow you to use nearly any shipping service but you have to package according to their policy and take photos along the way. Of course I didn’t have to make any claims so can’t comment on that

You are lucky to have a Parcel Pro account. Since I don't have a business, they were not willing to give me an account.

$50000 for jewellery? Watches are in that category. Have you ask specifically if Watches are covered for 50k?

Yes, they are for registered mail in the US. Slow but secure and inexpensive.

Yes, the OP is asking about shipping within the US. You can ship with registered mail outside the US, but I don't think the insurance will apply once it is transferred to other postal systems.

I’ve used secursus many times within the US. No issues and their website makes it incredibly easy, I have to say. I have not had to file a claim however, so no comment on that feature as of yet.

When I was shipped my broad arrow, the seller used Inforsure and they specifically insure luxury watches and other luxe goods. Can't comment on their claim service though, thankfully.

Even though this is an old thread, Secursus does not insure within the US, i.e. US to US.

It will allow you to insure a US to US shipment and take your money, but the terms and conditions say you aren't covered (which is shitty software.)

Good to know about the US policy for intra state shipments with Securus. Within the US it's probably best to ship USPS Registered Mail if you don't have a Parcel Pro account.

Wasn’t there a thread asking if securus ever payed out a claim which the owner, who was in the thread wouldn’t answer.

I dislike insurance companies but I insured a priority plus (overnight) at the usps. It was for 2,700 I think my bill including shipping was 60 bucks. This may not be pertinent to the subject as it wasn’t a watch but I didn’t see anything stating jewelry and or watches can’t be shipped the same.

I used secursus to ship my explorer 2 to another OF member, and while I didn’t have to file a claim, they were quick and easy to work with.
