Here’s mine. I was told original bezel was lost and thus was a service replacement.

finally arrived and after a trip to the Watchmaker , ready for everyday wear. Very nice and now i`m on the lookout for an inner bezel ring.... can they be repainted? and experience with that ?

I guess everything can be remade. But this kind of bezel is available at ebay as NOS part from time to time. Maybe twice the price of a remade, but original in the end 😉

Thats very likely. I guess it has the Bakelite Radium one from the early days. Handset is also very early. Any date in the caseback visible?

Best Nico

Since this became a more or less Enicar diving thread, I would like to add these cool pics of an Enicar Healtways on the wrist of a user of the Sea Horse I diving vehicle and probably of Zale Parry. Parry was a diver and actress, known for the underwater series Sea Hunt together with Lloyd Bridges at the end of the 50s.

My "Hans Hass" Sherpa Dive with original bakelite Radium bezel. Unfortunately I am to afraid to wear it...not because of the Radium but afraid to lose the bezel (like most of these early divers did).

Great post, and really learning a lot from the follow ups. This silver dial variant w/red pointer and alloy bezel was my first Enicar, the last acquisition of 2023, and a lucky one!

Hey,

since I butchered this thread for all things that Dives and has Enicar on the dial, I edited the title from "Hans Hass' Sherpa Dive" to "Diving through the world of Enicar underwater watches"

I also have something new to add. Some of you for sure know the Enicar Sherpa Super Dive, a 40mm EPSA two crown compressor watch, build in the starting to end 60s. Some of these watches, around 300, landed in the hand of the Polish Navy behind the Iron Curtain. The Story behind it and what you have to look at at these specific watches, you find in my Blog at Enicar101:

https://enicar101.com/2025/03/04/the-polish-navy-super-dives/

Gladly a Polish friend of mine managed to find an actual picture from 1974, showing Polish Navy Divers with the bespoken watch on their wrist.
If you have one of these watches and the Serial is missing in my list, please let me know.

Cheers Nico

What a nice post/thread!
I have spent a couple of hours learning the basics....😁
There seems to be both automatic, and also manual wind?
And I also found Rubyrotor...!
A cool watch, with a nice history!
👍👍👍

Hey,

regarding the Super Dives, no they are all Automatics. The Rubyrotor movements were a nice invention of Enicar around 1960 but had big problems with cracked rubies 😉 So today you often find these movements serviced and swapps to ball-bearing systems like everyone else.

How about the Divette, that one has the same style on the lume plots, and the cool second hands etc.
But is this one manual?

No, also automatic. Rule of thumb: When "Sherpa" is on the dial, its 99% automatic (except chronographs!)
