Just as a reminder though, with all the church of apple waffle you go on with, I didn't come on a watch forum and make a thread just to bad mouth other people's choices, that's what you did and the insecurity really is dripping off of all of this.

"Under powered" is completely relative to the use case you have. For me the Vaio Z works great and I have no performance issues. I don't know what your use case requirements are and for me the Vaio Z with its spec quick boot time, touch screen, digital pen and being light and portable gives me the "performance" I want and need. My "apples" are indeed different from your "apples".
Ref your comment about the thread: when I started the thread it was completely focused on the debate of how much the smartwatch is a significant threat to the luxury mechanical watch market. The Apple Watch as market leader was used as reference...it was not meant to be a a dig at the AW or smartwatch owners.
Everything was going fine in the thread...with good discussion. Today I discussed how I felt that in the long term the health features in the AW might be replaced by a lower cost wearable platform..and then I mentioned that I too was thinking of making my first smartwatch purchase with the Tag-Heuer Connected 41mm, They you came out of the blue taking a dig at my choice and for some reason at Android??
Surely a bit hypocritical on your part accusing me of being insecure and "bad mouthing other people's choices".
Hopefully this will clear things up once and for all:
1. I think Apple deserves admiration for product innovation: Ipod, Iphone/Ipad, Apple Watch. I do not necessarily think it makes the best products in all categories right now, nor do I think its business model is as ethical as I think it should be...but no one can deny that they have led device innovation for decades.
2. This will come as a shock to you, but I honestly think as a pure smartwatch the Apple Watch Gen 3 is the best smartwatch on the market today and I truly admire how Apple managed to create the product, roll it out and get the level of user adoption they have. Do I like the product myself? No. Do I understand why other people do? Yes.
3. So why do I prefer the Tag-Heuer Connected 41mm? Because I think Biver is the new Steve Jobs?LOL
No, because I believe I will develop an emotional connection with the watch, for the reasons stated in my post. Right now I would not buy a smartwatch just for the smartwatch utility features (if that were the case the AW would be the best option)...I will be buying the Tag-Heuer using the same mix of rational / irrational / emotional decision process I believe many of us go through for any mechanical watch purchase. Do I need a US$1200,00 smartwatch? No, nor do I need luxury mechanical luxury watch.
I agree with Al that we did not need to descend to a Rolex vs Omega type discussion. So Ash if you really think Apple is wonderful and superior on all fronts: Windows, Android, Tablets, SmartWatches etc. you have every right to have that opinion. I suggest you just calm down a bit and perhaps use less aggressive wording before assuming you really know what I think about a given subject.
